The 2010 BIRTHDAY PARTY thread!

Post by ThyneAlone »

I'm introducing this a bit early because frankly I could do with some help round the place to make it look respectable. We don't exactly run round doing housework on the sofa you know. I've just had the cushions out to vacuum, and my goodness I think there are some small loafer-wearing aliens down there living on biscuit crumbs and the remains of crisp packets. Admittedly things have been better since we got the self-cleaning dishes, but still...

Lots of chairs, we need more chairs, and possibly a space cleared for dancing. Throw the window open for fresh air. Somebody's left a coffee mug on this window seat and I think that is penicillin I can see in it. Very student campus. Ugh. Can someone pick up a duster please while I dispose of this and start on the food?

Party is pumping over here.. its almost 1am sunday morning, so its officially tjs birthday day here in australia.
I celebrated a little early and went to see the backstreet boys concert... on the back of a music festival friday as well. My ears are ringing now and my ankles are about shot... but I've got plenty of party left in me.. saved the best for today! Totally doing the finger dance in celebration.

I'll be back around after I caught some zzzzzz's.

*rolls up sleeves* Okay, Steph, I've washed all the dishes and set up a table for goodies to be brought in. I've got paper lanterns strung up with lights (I think they're pretty), but we could use a good 'Happy Birthday' banner!

After I bring in the chairs from my basement, I'll start baking some pumpkin bread. I think this is going to be fun! Sharon, have you been warming up your singing voice?

Hee.

His birthday starts in 2 hours here in Germany. I could help cleaning a bit since then, if you don't mind. :chores-vacuum: :chores-mop:

Mmmmmh, chocolate fudge cake! :)

See you all tomorrow!

This place is looking great. Hey, look, it's one of my posters! :P

I've brought a bunch of comfy armchairs, couches, love seats... even a few beanbags & oversized cushions to toss on the floor. The moving crew was pricey, but it was totally worth it. Should be nice & cozy.

Don't worry, I left a good-sized space for people to dance.

Good morning, evening, whatever it is! It's about 1:00 am here and I'm still up working, but took a break to enjoy some brownies (sorry was I supposed to save some?) and watch an episode of Bones.

I've actually been dying to watch the Aliens episode since I got my season 2 DVD last month, but held out to watch them in order. Pulled out disk 3 and what do you know, it was up next. Perfect timing!

I'm wearing my usual work-at-home uniform, my "hot" yoga pants and T-shirt and pony tail. However, I do have freshly painted nails/toes! I'll dress up tomorrow for more partying after church :) and will crank up some tunes then.

Ugh, back to work.

*claps loudly*
Hi PEOPLE, wow, this place looks amazing!

I am in a rather elegant royal blue cocktail dress with a few matching feathers in my hair. However I have also brought along my Cher outfit for later. I didn't want to be the back end of a cow for the fancy dress parade. Though I guess it depends who's in front.

Now this is a beautiful little package, just pulling the tiny gold ribbons..aaaannd...ooh it's tickets to see La Bohème at the Met! Haven't had the time or money to indulge my opera love for quite a while, and it will cheer up my classically-minded husband who as you know is currently not in the best of spirits. Thank you guys!

Just to prove my catholic musical tastes, I have also brought along some Robbie Williams. Very danceable. We can have some karaoke later if you like. Now then, would anyone like some champagne? Oops, a little fizzy, but a nice virtual self-cleaning cushion. I'm going to let off some of my endless supplies of party poppers (see llama, I listen!) and silly string too. one-two-three-yaaaaaY!
