Favourite Hodgins lines

Post by ThyneAlone »

Hello folks!
I just happened to be reading through a conversation on the chatbox and someone asked what happened to the thread where we were asked to give our favourite TJ Bones quotes. Well, it didn't have its own thread - it was on the site ideas thread in Talk TJ, as Sharon correctly posited, because we were trying at the time to gather some random quotes to display on the main site (which Sharon later discovered was unfortunately not possible). Thus it was a short-lived idea. But if you want a quote thread, well, that's the starter material and I am happy to reproduce it for you from the 2 contributors - Simone and Sherry. Feel free to add as much as you like, without repeating if possible!

"...drumroll......optional!" guess it was season 4 "Man in the Outhouse"?

"...ok, now you talk!" season 2 "The Girl with the Curl"

Angela: Well, what about love? What do you have to say about love?
Hodgins: It´s overrated...most of the time. (The Graft In The Girl)

"...Aliens don't wear loafers." season 2 "Spaceman in a Crater"

Hodgins: We've been dancing around this for month now. Like 2 pieces of neodymium cought in a magnetic field.
Angela: Is that good? - Season 2 "The Girl With The Curl"

"Why does everything have to be so damn hard?" - Supposed to be in season 2 - Episode "Player Under Pressure" original version! It is not in the aired version in season 3.

"You don't want my answers? Don't ask me the questions!" - Season 3/Episode 1 "The Widow's son..."

"Is it paranoia that Monica Lewinsky was a KGB-trained sex mole?"

"You really think I'm lusty?"

HODGINS: In a nutshell: anxious, depressed and nauseous.
BRENNAN: Take a sick day.
HODGINS: Not me. [The victim] Cleo Eller.

BOOTH: Just give me your best guess right now!
HODGINS: I can't just guess! I have a process!

This is a favourite of mine, from 'Secret In The Soil' and addressed to a large bug. I expect to unearth a lot more for this thread!

Steph, I need to find that quote and use it as my ringtone. HAHAHAHA :D

Okay, here are some more quotes, which I've been jotting down as I rewatch the episodes from my Season 1 DVDs:

From "The Man in the SUV" --

BOOTH: I don't enjoy having squints on my team any more than you like me on yours. But, you know, we're supposed to be working together, okay?
HODGINS: Sure. So, what do we do? Group hug?

HODGINS: I graduated top of my class, Rhodes scholar, youngest member inducted into the Academy of Physical Sciences... but she still makes me feel like a cretin.

From "A Boy in a Tree" --

HODGINS: SOme things you learn by doing. Riding a bike, driving a car, pleasing a woman...
ZACK: I can't ride a bike or drive a car.
HODGINS: Or, apparently, please a woman.
ZACK: I need specific instructions. A list of techniques to implement, or a sequence of moves.
HODGINS: I'm not really the guy to talk to about that.
ZACK: Why not? You've slept with, like, 10,000 women!
HODGINS: Because our relationship is all about what's up here. (gestures to their brains) What you need to do is talk to someone more... earthy. (gestures to below the belt)

And one that always amuses me...

HODGINS: Hey, bugs buzz, but they do not lie.

Because I just watched it this week...

From "The Man in the Bear" --

ZACK: You bogarted my package.
HODGINS: You panicked and froze, my man. Thus, the package came into play. Also, incorrect use of the verb 'bogarted'."

HODGINS: Angela. If we were a Peruvian soccer team and crashed in the Andes... who would rather eat -- me or Zack?

HODGINS: You want a war? Fine. Because I am the warrior.

(I love that one so much, every time I watch TJ say it. "Because I am the warrior." Teeeheeee.)

ANGELA: Did you work all night?
HODGINS: Yes. I shaved the truffle.
ANGELA: Is that anything like spanking the monkey?

Heh.

And continuing along that conversation, because I love that scene so much:

HODGINS: I found boring dust.
ANGELA: Is there any other kind?
HODGINS: Boring dust is produced by beetles, which means the tree the truffle grew on was infested.
ZACK: That's not going to impress Toni.
HODGINS: That's not why I did it. I did it to serve justice and capture a murderous cannibal.
ANGELA: That'll impress the hot courier.
HODGINS: (smirking) I am back in the game.

Okay, okay, I'll stop soon. But I've been watching these episodes one by one all week, so I can't help but quote from them. Hodgins has all sorts of fun lines. :D

From an episode that has some terrific Hodgins scenes, "A Boy in a Bush" --

HODGINS: I'm not afraid of parking or feet.

HODGINS: I recognize that look. You're writing another book. When you write, you get this stunned look on your face like you stuck a fork in a toaster.

I love that line so much. I don't know why, but it makes me laugh really hard. And then I start to wonder what I look like while I'm trying to write something. Heeeeeee.

Here's another great line that I often quote:

HODGINS: Fight coercion in all its forms. You don't write the book; I don't go to the banquet. Solidarity.

It's the way he's so intense about it. And the way he says 'Solidarity.' Heh. Love it! :romance-smileyheart:

HODGINS: I don't wanna be anybody's boss. I never did. Please respect that.

HODGINS: Zack has been informed that if he tells anyone who I am, I will kick him out on the street like a stray dog. Sadly, there's nothing I can threaten you two with.

HODGINS: What I want out of my life is to come in here and sift through slime and bugs. Unfortunately, my family is one of those who secretly run the world.
BOOTH: Paranoia and delusions of grandeur, all in one package.
HODGINS: You call it paranoia, I call it the family business.

And one of my favorite Hodgins speeches, one that I think says so much about the character, the kind of person he is and how he lives his life --

HODGINS: The reason I do not want to go to that banquet is because the other members of the ruling elite will make a big fuss about seeing me. My secret will be out, and my life... this life that I love, will be ruined. I'm asking you, please, please just let me be Jack Hodgins who works in a lab.

Awesome. Bravo to TJ, every time I watch that scene.

From "The Man in the Wall" --

HODGINS: Good news. I was able to pull some particulates.
BOOTH: Uh, are those--
HODGINS: Eyeballs? Yeah.

Heeeee. (And ewww.)

And this is a CLASSIC Hodgins line:

BOOTH: You know what? I'm gonna turn you into an investigator yet.
HODGINS: No, no no no. Bugs and slime, dude. That is where I'm happy.

HODGINS: How many times do you want me to poke Zack?
BRENNAN: Just once, but as hard as you can.
ZACK: As hard as he can? Why don't I poke him as hard as I can?
HODGINS: Because you have arms like noodles, while I'm vigorous and burly.

Heeheheheeee.

From "The Man on Death Row" --

HODGINS: I demand another beetle, all right? Jeff's got a groin pull.
ZACK: Arthropods do not possess groins. Pay up.

You really gotta love the Zack and Jack antics. :D

HODGINS: You're the one with the photographic memory. I'm the one that's good with the ladies.

HODGINS: When you talk that fast, human beings can't hear you.

From "The Girl in the Fridge" --

BOOTH: Rather than open it myself and risk being trashed by you for contaminating the evidence, I decided to bring the whole refrigerator to you.
HODGINS: What we need is a toaster oven.

HODGINS: This seems like an appropriate moment to discuss human goop.

A fantastic episode, "The Man in the Fallout Shelter" --

HODGINS: Your robot reminds me of you. You tell it to turn, it stops. You tell it to stop, it turns. You ask it to take out the garbage, it watches reruns of Firefly.

So, I was wondering about that comment. Given that Zack lives above Hodgins' garage, do you think Hodgins was pointedly trying to tell Zack he needs to take out his trash more often? :D

ZACK: Crystal in Accounting is after you, isn't she?
HODGINS: Like Alien after Predator.

HODGINS: Hey, I got into the decontamination shower with Zack. Haven't I been through enough hell?

Heeeeeeeeee.

HODGINS: You wanna know the true meaning of Christmas? It's being inside a 300-year-old inn with a French Canadian masseuse when there's 10 feet of snow outside.
ZACK: Christmas is going home to Michigan and heading into the woods with your brothers to cut a 12-foot Christmas tree, and you all decorate it together -- brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews. Forty people who all love you and are happy to see you. That, my friend, is the true meaning of Christmas.
HODGINS: (long, thoughtful pause) Nah. I'm gonna have to go with the masseuse on this one.

HODGINS: Although I believe organized religion is just another political movement designed to control the masses... it doesn't mean God doesn't love me.

;)

Okay, last one, I swear! (But only because that's as far as I got with my Bones viewing this week. Heh.)

From "The Woman at the Airport" --

HODGINS: Science is no country for storytellers, baby.

:D

You really gotta love how TJ chose to say that line. Very bad-ass. *GRIN*

One of my favorite quotes from an episode I just watched again last night, The Secret in the Soil

HODGINS: Has it occurred to either of you that this might be another victim in the Widow's Son case?
ZACH: Based on what?
HODGINS: Because the victim was cooked like an entree. Same as that guy in Germany.
BRENNAN: There's no evidence here to suggest cannibalism...no bite marks.
HODGINS: No condiments.
:o

Heeee I went on a marathon today :D major Bones episode watching. Here's some of my faves.

Hodgins: You’re feeling something a little more devious. More like a frame-up? Oh I like it, very conspiratorial.
Booth: Things are just too neat. You know, Hollings would never leave a map there.
Hodgins: Go with me on this. Mob guys know you’re closing in and they want to throw you off by making it look like the psycho. I mean these guys have been involved in conspiracies a lot more complicated than this. They set up Lee Harvey Oswald, worked with the CIA to kill Castro. Forget what they did to Marilyn Monroe...
Booth: Someone planted that evidence so that we’d find it, someone who knew what we were up to
Hodgins: Someone at the lab works for the mob. I can see it; there’s not much difference between a corrupt corporate government and organised crime.
Booth: [pause] You’re right.
Hodgins: Excuse me?
Booth: The only way this could unfold is if someone on the inside was orchestrating things
Hodgins: People never tell me I’m right, they only say I’m crazy. Love you, man.

THAT IS JUST SO CUTE. :D eeeee.

Hodgins: This whole conspiracy thing gets a lot more intense when you’re in the middle of it.

Hodgins: [after Booth groans in pain] Maybe you shouldn’t have had all that pudding.

Hodgins: I'm doing the faecal flotation right now... wow, don't get to say that a lot.

Dr. Goodman: A proud man. Not the ending he would have wanted. Yet he was surrounded by family and friends. A good death.
Hodgins: Oh, please. Now you're describing a scene from Lord of the Rings.

I don't care what you say... pissed off Hodgins is definitely gorgeous. haha!!

Zach: I saw a documentary once where a bear got into a car and drove away.
Hodgins: That was not a documentary. It was a cartoon.

I miss Zack btw :(

Hodgins: If you haven't figured out the stun gun, then I am this week's King of the Lab, 'cause I found something huge.
Angela: You compete to be King of the Lab?
Hodgins: [embarrassed] No.

For obvious username related reasons :D :D

Hodgins: And if we're buried more than four feet deep?
Brennan: Then the concussion will turn our brains to jelly.
Hodgins: Well, then, we can run for Congress. So it's a win-win.

Hodgins: What you have is faith, baby. [Brennan gives him a look] Sorry, the baby thing is a reflex.

OHH.. I love it when he says 'baby'. <<melts>> heee heee. TJ was just incredible in Aliens in a Spaceship too... more episodes tomorrow, I should reckon :D

Hi All

There are loads but two of my favourites are...

From 'The Man in the Cell'

And you have the big gun.(Brennan gives him a surprised look) Hey, tough to keep that one a secret, beautiful woman with a weapon, very Guns and Ammo summer issue. (Brennan continues to glare at Hodgins) I'm gonna concentrate on my work now.

and...

From 'Double Death of the Dearly Departed'

'King of the Funeral' (I just think its hysterical)

While I'm here can I just mention a line that's not Hodgins but that I saw again the other day and always has me in hysterics, from 'A Man on Death Row'...

Booth 'Reason for wanting a gun?'
Brennan 'To shoot people'

That is just completely Brennan in one quote, so literal.

That last bit was a bit off topic, sorry, got to thinking of quotes and just had to.

Anyway off to the pub now.

Catch you later

The one line that makes me crack up time and time again is when Hodgins usus Cam's blender to make his maggot juice. She catches him and he shruggs and says "Don't worry, I'll rinse it out" :D

Don't ask me why this is so funny for me but I can't stop laughing watching the scene.

This is from one of my favourite episodes: The Finger in the Nest - 4.04:

Hodgins: Booth wanted me to make sure they (the FBI team) didn't screw up things!

*FBI guy glares at Hodgins*

Hodgins *shrugging*: Hey, deal with it!

AND

Hodgins: I found a ...

*FBI guy clears throat*

Hodgins: Excuse me. The crack FBI team found a prescription bottle....

LOVE this episode!

Another one from "Finger in the Nest":
